Hello all,

Everyone on this chain has either suffered through an early draft of my novel, or expressed an interest in reading what I’ve written. It’s been 6 or 7 years now, and I wanted to share what I created. Thank you for your patience and support. 

Once a week I’ll post a chapter. This week is the Prologue, and the only war sequence. For those of you who don’t like, or can’t read such things, here is your heads-up. After that, the story will progress in a more traditional sense, but it won’t shy away from dark material. Apologies in advance, but as a good friend said to me, “you have to dig deeper and push harder.”

In many ways I pushed myself past where I was comfortable, and at one point I found myself trapped in a very dark place. Many times I wanted to set this work aside and move onto something else, but I could not, no matter how hard I tried, out of a profound sense of obligation to others. Is this work complete? No, but I’ve taken it as far as I want to go alone.

I’ll be making this story public, both on Medium and a blog. Please feel free to share, comment, give feedback and point out mistakes. Throughout this 7 year experiment, I have found the only thing that has declined worse than my vision is my grasp of grammar.
